Applejack goes to Canterlot to compete in a rodeo. Every pony expects her to return with six blue ribbons and prize money to fix up town hall. When her friends, however receive a letter saying that she's not coming back, they all set out to find her.
In this episode the name Derpy is officially confirmed as her name when Rainbow Dash says "Now careful, Derpy". This mention was later removed from the episode.
This episode marks the first speaking role of Derpy.
